Since its founding on January 16, 1920, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has been dedicated to addressing the social, educational, and economic challenges facing our communities through purposeful action and sustainable impact. Grounded in our founding principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, Zeta’s national programs reflect our unwavering commitment to improving the human condition through advocacy, education, and empowerment.
Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) is Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s signature community service initiative, created to empower individuals and communities through holistic programs that foster self-improvement, education, and awareness.
Through Z-HOPE, Zetas address the needs of women, men, youth, seniors, and international communities. Chapters implement projects focused on health education, economic development, youth mentorship, elder care, and global humanitarian outreach. Each initiative is guided by measurable objectives, ensuring that Zeta’s service efforts lead to meaningful and lasting change.
The Stork’s Nest is a long-standing, collaborative program between Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and the March of Dimes, established in 1972. This initiative promotes prenatal education and healthy birth outcomes for women and infants by encouraging positive health practices during pregnancy.
Expectant mothers participate in educational sessions that cover topics such as nutrition, prenatal care, parenting, and infant safety. As participants complete classes and demonstrate healthy behaviors, they earn points to “shop” in the Stork’s Nest for essential baby items like diapers, clothing, and supplies.
Through this powerful partnership, Zeta Phi Beta and the March of Dimes continue to make a national impact—empowering mothers, strengthening families, and helping babies get a healthy start in life.
Zeta Phi Beta’s Adopt-A-School Program underscores the Sorority’s enduring commitment to education and youth development. Chapters collaborate with local schools to provide mentorship, tutoring, and educational resources that support student achievement and encourage a lifelong love of learning. This initiative promotes leadership, confidence, and academic excellence among young people.
The Elder Care Initiative honors and uplifts senior citizens through acts of compassion and service. Chapters organize activities and provide resources that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being—ranging from wellness programs and appreciation luncheons to companionship visits and intergenerational engagement. This initiative reflects Zeta’s deep respect for the legacy and wisdom of those who came before us.
Reflecting its international reach, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority extends its commitment to service beyond national borders. The Global Impact program addresses issues such as education, clean water access, disaster relief, and women’s health. Through partnerships with international organizations, Zeta continues to demonstrate that Service has no boundaries. Pi Kappa Zeta Graduate Chapters supports local Adopt-A-Highway initiative in Burlington, NC.
